Third International Symposium on Transboundary Waters
July 12, 2006: One of IGRAC's team members attended the 3rd International Symposium on Transboundary Waters Management, organized jointly by the University of Castilla - La Mancha and UNESCO, that took place from 30 May though 2 June 2006 in Ciudad Real, Spain.
As an invited speaker he made a presentation entitled "Transboundary aquifer resources management: a topic in development" and chaired two sessions on Water Law in relation to transboundwater water management, including a round table on the subject. On request of the Organization of American States, he made a second presentation "Transboundary aquifers of the Americas", addressing outcomes of the UNESCO-OAS ISARM The Americas project in which IGRAC plays a substantial role. Attending the symposium gave the opportunity for updating and exchanging knowledge on the state of the art related to transboundary issues and experiences. (For more info please contact IGRAC.)
