Roundtable on management of shared groundwater in South Eastern Europe in Slovenia
January 4, 2008: IGRAC represented UNESCO at the International Roundtable on Integrated Management of Shared Groundwater in South Eastern Europe, Slovenia, 14-16 November 2007.
Prior the roundtable IGRAC initiated an on-line discussion forum. During the roundtable IGRAC was working - together with colleagues from GEF and UNDP - on preparation of the GEF project proposal on Protection and Sustainable Use of the Dinaric Karst Aquifer System (DIKTAS). At the closing plenary session IGRAC reported from the working session on land use and economic development.
The roundtable was jointly organised by the Slovenian Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and GWP-Med, and supported by GEF IW:LEARN. It is a part of the activities within the Petersberg Process Phase II / Athens Declaration Process.
